Narenjestan traditional house is conveniently located within a 5-minute walk of the Amir Chakhmagh Complex, the heart of the historic city. It offers traditional Iranian hospitality and an authentic taste of a bygone age, with peace and tranquillity to match. The house is built from adobe (sun-dried mud bricks), and the history of this stunning mansion dates back to the Qajar era. It has been carefully preserved and lovingly restored to its former glory. This traditional house offers three small but comfortable rooms, tastefully decorated in a traditional Iranian style and opening into a charming courtyard flaunting a blue fountain pool, bitter orange trees, vaulted Iwan and seating areas. In the evening, the sunlight catches the lattice stained glass windows forming beautiful rainbows, and together with stunning Persian handcraft embellished niches, transform the rooms into enchanting spaces. All rooms are fitted with comfortable beds and a modern cooling/heating system. We also offer two traditional bedded areas (mattresses on top of carpet) in a secluded corner of the mansion called Hejleh-khaneh. Further lattice stained glass windows surround a unique alcove fully equipped with a traditional heating system called Korsi (a low wooden table with a heater underneath, and a heavy blanket thrown over it). The alcove offers guests an ideal space to relax and enjoy the serenity or the opportunity to chat with fellow visitors. A cellar, vestibule, urns, traditional agricultural tools and many other precious Iranian handcrafts are dotted around the mansion, adding to the atmosphere and sense of authenticity. In keeping with the traditional Iranian lifestyle and architecture, the bathroom and toilets are located in the courtyard. An authentic mud oven allows us to provide our guests with traditional Iranian bread for breakfast at the same time filling the house with that freshly baked bread aroma (this option is only for a minimum stay of 5 nights). Local food can be provided upon request or you are welcome prepare food in the fantastic kitchen facilities. Narenjestan house also offers all of the comforts of a modern guest house (refurbished bathroom/toilets, towels, bed linen, fully-equipped shared kitchen, free WiFi) ensuring a pleasant and comfortable stay.
